"Watering Hole"

This commission piece was a referral from my good friend, Shirl, who recommended me for the painting. Kaelen's beautiful friend passed away unexpectedly Tonto was a beautiful red dun who died too soon. I am thankful Kaelen trusted me with this project.

This painting depicts a peaceful rural scene outside a barn. The central figure is a woman riding a horse. She is seen from behind, wearing a purple tank top and blue jeans, and has blonde hair. The horse is well-detailed, especially around its mane, tail, and muscles.
Walking alongside the horse is a golden retriever, which looks up cheerfully, possibly at the woman or horse. The setting includes a barn with red-and-white siding, a metal roof, large windows, and a green gate on the right. There are rocks and bushes in the foreground, adding a touch of natural scenery.
The overall mood of the painting is calm and familiar, capturing a quiet moment between the woman, her horse, and her dog—perhaps after a ride or during a casual stroll around the farm. The use of watercolor gives the scene a soft, warm, and somewhat nostalgic feel.

"Archie" was a custom order. This painting features a realistic depiction of a saddle horse, presented in a straightforward profile. The horse is a brown and white paint with a well-defined, muscular build. It's equipped with detailed Western tack. The level of detail suggests a deep familiarity with horse gear and anatomy.
The painting is framed in rustic wood, adding to the Western or ranch aesthetic. A long horsehair tassel is attached to the upper left corner of the frame.
The overall, this piece conveys a sense of respect for equestrian life and tradition, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and authenticity.
